Use your engineering and leadership skills to design and develop next-generation distributed energy resource solutions, including energy storage and solar, for the electric power system, and see your solutions deployed with real-world customers who are incorporating distributed energy resources into the grid. This position is based in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Proven track record of power system engineering skills in the context of utility scale renewable and / or battery energy storage systems.
Experience working on utility-focused power engineering projects and / or product design.
Proficiency with power system analysis tools including PSSE, PSCAD, Power Factory and Python.
Proven experience within the NEM connection application process.
Knowledge of utility protection and control engineering design principles.
Experience in executing power system consultancy projects.
Knowledge of electric utility substation and electrical distribution system design.
Understanding of the dynamics of introducing distributed energy resources into electric grid operations.
Direct and provide technical and administrative guidance to assigned Project/discipline of Engineers in managing projects.
Conducts annual performance reviews in accordance with approved procedures and holds career development discussions.
Ability to collaborate with multiple teams.
Be a key lead in the creation of a work environment that encompasses the Doosan GridTech values.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience writing technical reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Extensive knowledge of utility Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Distribution Management System (DMS) operations.
Utility or consultancy-based professional experience preferred.
Knowledge of utility-scale energy storage systems.
Familiarity in the operation and/or design of discrete time-based control systems.
Knowledge of utility communication systems, including SCADA.
Familiarity with additional analysis packages such as ETAP, PowerFactory, Python and MATLAB is beneficial.
Experience generating intellectual property (IP) and creating IP documentation within the context of product developments.
Manage and lead grid connection studies for megawatt-scale energy storage systems.
Create and coordinate concept designs (control and electrical), execute power system analysis, stakeholder reporting, and ongoing stakeholder negotiations (including client, NSP, and regulator).
Supervision and mentoring of other Power systems team members.
Ad-hock travels to assist in power system validation during commissioning and on an as-needs basis for client meetings.
Provide engineering support for component solicitations including the evaluation of power conversion systems and battery systems from multiple vendors.
Work with the wider Doosan GridTech team to identify design and performance improvements in Doosan GridTech’s delivered systems.
5+ years of demonstrated experience in electrical power system engineering. Experience in utility electrical power system projects or distributed energy resource projects is strongly preferred.
Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or related electrical power systems field with 7+ years of direct engineering experience.
Certification as a CPEng or similar registration memberships are considered advantageous.
