About the Role
We currently have an outstanding career opportunity for a Health, Safety, and Environment Manager responsible for creating and maintaining EHS plans, policies, procedures, and forms, including auditing of site and works for critical ESS project work.
Use your technical leadership skills and strong background in safety to enhance our Company’s position in delivering and maintaining safe, well-functioning systems for the digital distributed grid. Work closely with customers and our engineers to support a fleet of cutting-edge energy storage systems.

We require a motivated individual with significant experience creating and managing Health, Safety, and Environment obligations and a passion to work with large scale ESS or solar PV projects that solve real-world electric utility problems. Desired capabilities are a strong advantage.
Requirements
Formal qualifications in OH&S (Diploma level or above)
8+ years’ experience in a similar role
Experience in the construction/civil industry, ideally within utilities
Knowledge of computer applications and interfaces
Australian Citizen or Australian Permanent Resident will be considered for this opportunity
Desired Skills
Electrical power system understanding
Communication network experience
Experience with utility-scale energy storage, utility-scale Solar PV, utility-focused product design, or delivering technology-driven products (hardware or software) for the electric grid
Understanding of the dynamics of distributed energy resources within electric grid operations
Experience with quality management systems
Responsibilities
Establish and maintain safe work standards and build a culture of safety across the organization and throughout all phases of a project life-cycle
Enhance established safety policies and develop operational procedures to minimize the risk of job-related injuries or accidents and ensure the organization is in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
Direct/Manage/Supervise the development and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures to minimize the risk of job-related injuries or accidents
Ensure the organization is in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations
Work with leaders from other functional areas to inspect the workplace to identify health and safety hazards and take actions to correct and prevent them
Create health and safety monitoring procedures and practices
Educate employees, customers and subcontractors on safe and healthy working conditions to help prevent or mitigate workplace hazards by developing and delivering safety training in the office and onsite
Investigate incidents and near misses to ensure all appropriate reports are prepared in a timely manner and maintained according to government regulations
Create and oversee emergency procedures and ensure emergency teams are prepared for potential incidents
Perform safety audits and inspections to find potential hazards and take corrective actions where issues arise
Develop the safety and sustaining engineering programs to ensure scalability as the organization and number of fielded systems continues to grow
Travel to sites to support or lead commissioning, troubleshooting and safety-related activities
Coordinate with U.S Safety team to further establish Doosan GridTech Health and Safety Policies and Procedures, as applicable
