About the Role

Doosan GridTech currently has an outstanding career opportunity for an experienced Project Engineer to join our growing Australian team. In this role you will be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines involved in Doosan GridTech Australia projects, including scheduling, planning, forecasting and managing of technical activities assigned to assure project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.


This position is based in either Brisbane or Melbourne, Australia.


Please note: only candidates with Australian Citizenship or Australian Permanent Residency will be considered for this opportunity.


We require a motivated systems engineer with experience working on utility scale electrical or distributed energy resource projects. Desired capabilities are a strong advantage.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in systems engineering projects.

  • 5+ years’ experience as a design engineer.

  • BS in System Engineering with 8+ years’ design experience within an electric utility.

  • Experience working on utility scale electrical projects or distributed energy resource projects is strongly preferred

  • Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) or RPEQ in any state desired

Desired Skills

  • Experience with energy storage system design or PV system design on a utility scale.

  • Knowledge of utility equipment specifications and datasheets.

  • Utility engineering experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform systems engineering design and sign-off.

  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications

  • Interact daily with the clients to interpret their needs and requirements and represent them in the field

  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with the project manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support

  • Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions

  • Manage contractor/supplier weekly status review meetings.

  • Assist in development of the technical solution during contract negotiations.

  • Evaluate product and systems risk during proposal and post-award phase; once a project is awarded support Project Managers in the transition to project delivery.

  • Verify adherence to design brief at site during installation and testing phase.
