Use your engineering and software skills to develop, deploy and test innovative software products that enable grid-integrated clean energy, including solar PV and energy storage. Work closely with our utility customers and engineers through all aspects of product definition, design, development and delivery, and see your solutions deployed with real-world power system operators.
We require customer engagement and listening skills, power system engineering skills, ability to collaborate and build consensus, and a solid grasp of the professional software development process. Desired capabilities are a strong plus.
Strong understanding of network design, setup, and troubleshooting.
Solid grasp of software development process, its leverage points and limitations.
Basic software development skills.
Basic understanding of industrial communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, Synchrophasor)
Ability to analyze data and summarize technical findings.
Excellent analytical skills, judgment and ability to drive trade-off decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with a small, fast-paced team to deliver customer value.
Willingness to travel often (>50%).
Experience delivering technology-driven products (hardware or software) for the energy industry.
Experience working on utility-focused or electrical engineering projects.
Knowledge of utility communication systems, including SCADA.
Understanding of dynamics of distributed energy resources within electric grid operations.
Working knowledge of professional software development tools.
Knowledge of utility Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Distribution Management System (DMS) operations.
Experience on utility electrical power system projects or distributed energy resource projects.
Experience with software performance tuning
Knowledge of electric power systems (e.g. AC vs. DC power)
Experience with Microsoft server products including SQL Server and Team Foundation Server
Effectively manage a team of smart, skilled software developers working on challenging problems
Act as the first point of contact for Software O&M issues.
Work closely with Software Engineering, Power Engineering, and Project Delivery to develop, deliver and test advanced software and information technology products that reliably and economically integrate distributed energy resources into the grid.
Install, setup, and troubleshoot hardware in the field.
Train customers on operation of Doosan software products.
Analyze system data to troubleshoot operational issues.
Develop hardware specifications to support deployment and software products.
Author and ensure creation of specifications to support the above goal.
Drive cross-team coordination, communications and consensus to drive results.
2+ years demonstrated field experience in electrical engineering or energy related field.
BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years of direct engineering experience; or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of direct engineering experience.
