Description

We’re addressing the growing field of electric energy storage with a new business model and innovative technologies like autonomous control algorithms and multi-level optimization. 


We’re looking for an experienced Software Test QA Engineer to join our growing team and help us deliver compelling software solutions to our customers. 


We require empirical problem solving and analytical skills, experience with software product testing; to implement test plans, automation, and validation strategies, and the ability to work effectively with teams to understand the business requirements and objectives relative to the desired functionality of products and applications. Desired capabilities are a strong plus.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience delivering commercially successful software

  • 2+ years leadership experience

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • Professional experience with software product testing, including software quality and testing methodologies/patterns.

  • Experienced in interacting and coordinating test activities among multiple teams.

  • Experience delivering quality test plans and testing on schedule.

  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and software quality.

  • Excellence in technical communications with both technical and non-technical peers.

  • Experience with professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

  • Demonstrated debugging and problem-solving ability.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Desired Skills

  • Solid understanding of operating systems and networking.

  • Experience testing C# .NET/Python/Java/SQL applications

  • Experience working with SQL queries and databases.

  • Experience with industry-standard test automation tools

  • Ability to apply statistical methodology in evaluating design and system performance.

  • Knowledge of electric power systems.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Agile Scrum/SAFe preferred

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and test software to ensure that products meet design specifications and are within total quality management limits and standards.

  • Participate actively in the entire software development life cycle.

  • Debug software products, and develop, modify, and execute software test plans, automated scripts and programs for testing.

  • Design test processes and procedures used to ensure that software operates within defined requirements.

  • Identify and investigate issues found during testing.

  • Work closely with software developers and technical product managers to resolve issues.

  • Maintain test environments.

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts to reduce repetitive manual testing.

  • Develop quality standards through participation in initial software development stages.

  • Document processes and test outcomes.

  • Integrate with existing infrastructure to establish a continuous build and test cycle.

Qualifications

  • BS in CS, IT, Networking or equivalent

  • 2 – 3 years of applicable experience

  • Experience using at least one modern programming or scripting language such as C, C++, J ava, JavaScript, Python or PERL
