This important leadership position will have you working with stakeholders across the company to define the functional requirements for our software product lines. 

Use your engineering and leadership skills to design and develop innovative software products that enable grid-integrated clean energy, including solar PV and energy storage. 

Work closely with our customers and engineers through all aspects of product definition, design, development and delivery, and see your solutions deployed with real-world power system operators. 

We require customer engagement and listening skills, energy market knowledge, ability to collaborate and build consensus, and a solid grasp of the professional software development process. Desired capabilities are a strong plus.


  • Experience delivering technology-driven products (hardware or software) for the energy industry.

  • Experience managing a technical team.

  • Experience working on energy software product design, or electrical engineering projects.

  • Understanding of distributed energy resources within electric grid operations.

  • Knowledge of energy markets or economic analysis of energy markets.

  • Strong customer engagement and listening skills.

  • Excellent analytical skills, judgment and ability to drive trade-off decisions.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work with a small, fast-paced team to deliver customer value.

  • Collaborative, consensus-driven approach.

  • Willingness to travel periodically

Desired Skills

  • Strong power system engineering skills.

  • Solid grasp of software development process, its leverage points and limitations.

  • Working knowledge of professional software development tools.

  • Knowledge of electric utility substation and electrical distribution system design.

  • Knowledge of utility Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Distribution Management System (DMS) operations.

  • Knowledge of control engineering design principles.

  • Knowledge of communication systems, such as SCADA.

  • Experience on utility electrical power system projects or distributed energy resource projects.

  • Experience working on commercial/industrial energy storage or solar PV system design.

  • Experience generating intellectual property (IP) and creating IP documentation.

  • Understanding of predictive data analytics.

  • Experience in design of control and optimization algorithms.


  • Strategically manage a team of smart, skilled Technical Product Managers working on challenging problems.

  • Manage the functional designs for all the Doosan GridTech software product lines.

  • Work with Product Management and Senior Management on the Software Product Roadmap.

  • Work closely with our customers, Product Management, Software Engineering, Power Engineering, Project Delivery and Sales to define, design, develop and deliver advanced software and information technology products that reliably and economically integrate distributed energy resources into the grid.

  • Partner with our power engineers, project engineers and customers to identify and harvest valuable product features embedded within our customer project deliverables.

  • Manage inherent tensions between our project responsibilities and our product and market objectives and help to scale this process as our company grows.

  • Proactively initiate product and feature concepts, and detailed technical designs.

  • Proactively and collaboratively manage trade-offs between desired product features and engineering/development resources to ensure timely delivery.

  • Author and ensure creation of specifications to support the above goals.

  • Drive cross-team coordination, communications and consensus to support the above goals.


  • 10+ years demonstrated experience in electrical power system engineering or energy analysis.

  • BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related electrical power systems field with 10+ years of direct engineering experience; or MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related electrical power systems field with 7+ years of direct engineering experience.

  • Solid working knowledge of professional software development.
